Recently I was in the shopping mall  and I happened to hear a conversation between some people discussing their dislike for this black girl’s hairstyle who had just previously walked by. One of them called the girl’s  hairstyle “ghetto”, then followed up by saying  “I hate when black girls put all them colors in their hair”. It led me to ask this question, what is ghetto really?  Because I have seen similar hairstyles with Caucasian women never labeled as ghetto. The word “ghetto” has a negative stigma attached to it and it seems like ghetto has become synonymous for “Black People”.What determines whether something is Ghetto or not? Why do some people consider one ghetto and not the other? Is being crafty with the supplies available to me ghetto?  Is being creative while black unacceptable? Does the price of something determine whether you should consider it ghetto or not? Or maybe I’m wrong…. Please do share your thoughts….@hated_logic

You’re exactly right. Just like when Black people improvise, it’s ghetto, but let a middle-to-upper class white person do it, it’s a lifehack, or being thrifty, or economical, or thinking out of the box, or brilliant, or whatever.

~COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN~

***PAYPAL ONLY, All prices are in USD***

e-mail: a_hint_of_jasmin@yahoo.com

I will draw ALMOST anything, any fandom, mild smut, mild violence/gore, furries, and certain mild kinks. I do, however, have the right to refuse a commission if I don’t like the subject. References and/or detailed descriptions are very much appreciated!

NOT ALL PRICES ARE FINAL, adding characters, backgrounds, etc, may change the final price but everything is negotiable within reason.

~Additional characters are half the price of the commission type for EACH extra character added to the total~

Please contact me via email [preferred] or tumblr inbox if you are interested.

Sidenote: Anything not mentioned here [character sheets/turnarounds, creature designs, etc] can be discussed,  just drop me a line and we’ll talk.

You can also go to my Commissions Page, Commissioned Art, Main Art Tag, OC Tag, and Art Blog for more examples.

IMPORTANT: Unless you specifically ask me to NOT post a commission anywhere, I do have the right to post any work I do to wherever I deem fit. I’m not unreasonable, and if you don’t want me using your characters as examples of my work then just ask and I’ll be more than happy to oblige. Otherwise, if it’s not your character/design and I want to use it for my own purposes, then I will.
